The Virtual Freedom Run Declaration

We are the in the fourth year of running with our freedom. Don't miss this run challenge.

Patriots prepare to run your FREEDOM off! This year's Freedom Run has sweet swag and always a challenging good time!

1776 is remembered for our founding fathers and we will take our own signature [runs] to log 177.6 kilometers (110.35 miles) over a 32 day period. Hammer the gavel and sign-up for the virtual Freedom Run that pushes you to get miles and join the virtual, social camaraderie that runners across the nation partake in.

Run with your American swagger and prepare to bring Independence Day celebrations in style by challenging yourself with friends to complete 177.6 kilometers (110.35 miles) starting June 2 through July 5, 2023. Are you up to getting the miles? It averages out to about 3.45 miles per day. That's right, it's what this total distance averages out to be. You can get your total of 177.6K by any combination of walking/jogging/running from June 3 through July 5, 2023 (i.e. run 3 miles today, 7 miles the next, and off the following day). The experience of this virtual event is to challenge yourself and join the social camaraderie with other runners.

We will post on our social media pages and via email and social group runs that will help you gain miles if you live near Carrollton, GA! We want to offer gatherings to meet other runners and the community of great running spaces. At each run you can choose your distance. We encourage you to pick a distance and run FREE (without a watch or tracking device). Run to enjoy your surroundings, enjoy the company, and enjoy your FREEDOM!  Bring your children and pets. They are all welcome!

Declaration #1: SIGN UP..... Now! Go ahead get that John Hancock signature ready. Bring your friends like Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Benjamin Franklin to join in with all the virtual fun of running like never before. Don't forget those friends to keep the accountability going. 

Declaration #2: Add up your PURPOSEFUL running/walking daily mileage/kilometers with the user-friendly logging form. We don't want all the extra steps you had to make it to the bathroom or the mailbox. Just when you chose to lace up those tried and true shoes and purposefully run or walk. This event offers FREE easy logging through runsignup.

Declaration #3: You can track your progress with other athletes that log through the month and follow all the pictures and fun along the way to LIFE, LIBERTY, and THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS! 

Complete the challenge in style and add to your American swagger by celebrating The United States of 'Merica in true fashion.

***THIS EVENT DOES NOT OFFER MEDALS*** American values weren't founded by participation trophies... this virtual event is all about the challenge and celebration of FREEDOM! So, let it ring TRUE that we may offend some and if you want a medal find the virtual event that gives you the option :)

There will be a form that participants are provided to complete for each daily run to submit their mileage to show where they are on the leaderboard.

FAQS

How do I log my exercise?
Three options to submit your mileage! Easy, Easier, Easiest!
1. Choose to submit via our webform: HERE.

  • You can backlog your distance for the last five days in the same way with the form. See above in #1.

Do I have to run/walk in a designated area?
No, you have the FREEDOM to run where you are! The location does not affect you accumulating your mileage.

Can I use my pre-workout run at the gym in my total?
Yes, this is considered PURPOSEFUL walk/jog/run for being active. Purposeful is walking/jogging/hiking/running with the intent that you are tracking your distance as exercise. You can log them by choosing which way works best for you.

What if I submit my mileage in the morning but get another mile or extra distance later? How do I log this?
Add your total distance for the day and submit that distance. If you already logged and you need to correct it just submit again. We will use your last logged amount as the total for the date you submitted.

What if I miss a day in logging?
No problem! We can take a backlog of up to five days. Just submit those by date.

Is there an award?
This event is your effort to complete the 177.6k and the award is your celebration of completion. No medals are offered. This is noted during registration.

What if I don't get the distance during the timeframe?
There is no shame in your game! Participate in your capacity and we will continue to cheer you on for all your effort. We will offer extended logging after July 4; however, the data updates to the leaderboard will be more limited and only be honored through July 11.

Can I purchase extra swag?
Yes, once registration closes any extra swag can be found on our store on Solerootsracing.com.
